Calexico
Hace no mucho tuve la oportunidad de escuchar en vivo a una banda anglo-indie que llamó mi atención en gran medida: Calexico. En primera instancia por su espléndida melodía; en segunda, por el nombre: esa horrible ciudad fronteriza -donde México mantiene un Consulado- cuyo nombre emana de la cópula sintáctica entre California y México; en tercera, porque son de Arizona, uno de los estados más anti-inmigrantes hoy por hoy en los EEUU; y en cuarta, porque tienen una canción basada en uno de los nueve cuentos {he de aceptar que el séptimo, el de Audrey, es mi favorito} que conforman la compilación llamada La Frontera de Cristal cuyo autor es el mexicanísimo Carlos Fuentes.
