2006 National Magazine Award Winners
A diferencia del año pasado en que The New Yorker se largó con cinco galardones, ahora los ganadores estuvieron un poco más variados:· Time for General Excellence (over 2,000,000 circulation) and for Single-topic Issue (for An American Tragedy, September 12).
· ESPN The Magazine for General Excellence (1,000,000 to 2,000,000 circulation).
· Esquire for General Excellence (500,000 to 1,000,000 circulation) and for Profile Writing (for Into the Light, by Robert Kurson, June).
· New York Magazine for General Excellence (250,000 to 500,000 circulation) and for Design.
· Harper's Magazine for General Excellence (100,000 to 250,000 circulation) and for Reviews and Criticism (for three reviews by Wyatt Mason).
· Virginia Quarterly Review for General Excellence (under 100,000 circulation) and for Fiction.
· Self for Personal Service (for its breast cancer handbook, Keep Your Breasts, Healthy for Life, October).
· Golf for Leisure Interests (for The New Way to Putt, October).
· Rolling Stone for Reporting (for The Man Who Sold the War, by James Bamford, December 1) and for Photo Portfolio/Photo Essay (for The Edge of the World, by Sebastiao Salgado, November 17).
· The New Yorker for Public Interest (for The Climate of Man, a three part series by Elizabeth Kolbert) and for Columns and Commentary (for three columns by Hendrik Hertzberg).
· The American Scholar for Feature Writing (for Genome Tome, by Priscilla Long, Summer).
· Vanity Fair for Essays (for A Matter of Life and Death, by Marjorie Williams, October).
· Backpacker for Magazine Section (for its Basecamp section).
· W for Photography.
Mis aplausos van para Esquire, Harper's y The American Scholar.
Propongo menciones honoríficas para The Economist y Foreign Policy.
